‘Reading Ahead’ is an initiative spearheaded by the Reading Agency which is run in different workplaces by UNISON. At Loughborough University staff and students can take part, as well as family members and friends. This year Loughborough UNISON are having an exclusive prize draw for those of you who finish and return your reading diary by the deadline (30th June).
This year’s Reading Ahead Launch Event will take place on 9th January 2019 at 12pm. We have an acclaimed guest to the event; alternate history, fantasy and contemporary crime author Rob Duncan. Whose novels have been shortlisted for the Philip K. Dick Award, the East Midlands Book Award and the John Creasey Dagger of the Crime Writers’ Association. Rod will be reading an except from his brand new novel ‘The Outlaw and the Upstart King’ and we will have an exclusive interview and Q&A conducted by Loughborough University Academic Deirdre O’Byrne. Rob will be having his appearance between 12.30pm and 1.30pm.
The Launch Event will be a chance to browse our book selection, receive your diary and meet other people from the challenge.
As well as the above we will be having literary themed activities, a mystery book raffle and refreshments will be available.
